A word to the wired
Article Abstract:
Business managers are lagging behind in the new technology revolution and often do not appreciate the benefits it can bring to their company. Electronic mail is quick and efficient and companies can communicate rapidly with other sites across the world. Employees can be situated anywhere and still be able to communicate via global conferencing. The Intranet allows the dissemination of information within a company and access can be open or restricted to specific company members. Firms which do not keep up to date with this technology will find themselves falling behind their competitors.

Marching unstoppably down the new highway: it has taken scarcely any time at all for the Internet to turn from an arcane piece of US defence-orientated computer networking into the putative shape of tomorrow's business arena. Is it all a fad?
Article Abstract:
More than 30 million computers can connect to the Internet and the figure could reach 200 million in less than five years. Only around 10% of the information in the Internet is expected to be of interest to users and many are already using the Internet without realising it, when sending electronic mail. The majority of those running specific programmes on the Internet are likely to be students, researchers or computer buffs, although the number of consumers and business users is growing.

Junk mail hits the screen
Article Abstract:
Although the use of new technology has increased efficiency and work output in the office environment, employees still need to be instructed how to use the electronic tools to effect the greatest return. The e-mail service and the Internet are both suffering from overload of available material causing delays for employees when searching for specific communications. New products are becoming available to search out unwanted information.
