APP plans to seek listing
Article Abstract:
Asia Pulp and Paper Co. (APP) is considering listing shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in an effort to raise some $500 million. The plan, which many sources claim would be carried out by the end of 1999, is believed to be part of a major expansion scheme. The company has also announced plans to consolidate its Indonesian pulp and paper production into a single entity, after which the company would enlist shares on Singapore's lucrative stock market. APP officials refuse to provide additional details on the plan.
