Article Abstract:

In September 2000 UTA and 0800Vanity.com, a specialist for free-phone services, will be offering companies the opportunity to offer their clients free-phone services that are accessed by dialling a string of letters, e.g. the company's name. The service is being made possible by the fact that an increasing number of households now have telephones with dialling units for entering letters rather than numbers.

AUSTRIA: M-COMMERCE WITH MAX.MOBIL

On 1 November 2000 Max.mobil will be launching a WAP-based m-commerce site titled Banko.max. In the max.w@p portal, Max.mobil subscribers have access to shopping and payment services. In the longer term the service is to be made available also to clients using pre-paid cards.

AUSTRIA: PAYMENT CARD BY TELEKOM AUSTRIA

Article Abstract:

Telekom Austria has launched a telephone card for the cashless payment of phonecalls in fixed-line and mobile networks of 40 countries. There is a uniform charge for all calls. The user is informed of the remaining credit on the card at the beginning and end of each call.
