AUSTRIA: PIZZA HUT'S EXPANSION PLANS
Article Abstract:
ProRest, the Pizza Hut licensee for Austria, is planning to open two more sites in Vienna in 2000 and five more sites in 2001. Moreover, a delivery service is planned. An expansion beyond Vienna, where Pizza Hut currently has five restaurants, is not planned before the end of 2001. ProRest chairman Joachim Richling regrets that expansion is slowed by the lack of workers, although he regards the salaries as attractive. The chain currently has 130 employees and would like to hire another 100. Pizza Hut, which already made a profit in 1998, one year after its market entrance, reports a turnover of Sch 50mn for 1999.
