AUSTRIA: RAIFFEISEN EYEING BANK BURGENLAND
Article Abstract:
Besides Oberbank, also the Raiffeisen group has expressed interest in taking over Bank Burgenland. However, a takeover of the ailing bank is possible only after a clean-up. Raiffeisen has not yet negotiated with the Austrian state of Burgenland, which is the bank's majority shareholder. If a takeover bid is submitted, it will come from Raiffeisen Burgenland.
