Walter (Prague, Czech Republic), aircraft engine manufacturer, has launched a new type of starting sets. The firm's proceeds from the exports of the products should be over 50 mil Kc in 1999 and 100 mil Kc per year during the next few years. The set is intended for the starting of the turbine engines of large transport aeroplanes. The aircraft engine Walter M601 utilises the set. Walter sets are able to start the biggest engine GE90 General Electric, which is mounted in Boeing aeroplanes. The firm expects its total proceeds to increase by 18% in 1999 compared to 1997. >AB !!! Walter is acquired by Novus Holding

Walter (Prague, Czech Republic), aircraft engine manufacturer, has a 96% stake held by the investment company Novus Holding Corporation (US). Novus operates in the aircraft and space industries. It plans to invest USD 8 mil in Walter, mainly in new technology and product innovations. Novus should help the firm with the marketing of the aircraft engines M601, which should be supplied to new markets in the US. Profits from Walter's sales should be CEK 3 bil by 2005 compared to the current CEK 700 mil.

Novus negotiates entrance to Walter
Article Abstract:
Walter (Czech Republic), aircraft engine manufacturer, will have a new strategical partner. The investment company Novus (Europe/US) has received exclusiveness to negotiate entrance to Walter. Novus plans to invest important sums in the modernisation of Walter's plants. The total level of the investments is estimated at 20-30 mil USD. The other investor interested in entrance to Walter was Pratt & Whitney.
