Will Oskar drop down as Mannessmann?
Article Abstract:
Cesky Mobil (CM) (Prague, Czech Republic), mobile operator, may exchange its owner. Telesystem International Wireless (TIW) (Canada), which backs CM, could sell CM if it does not get over its financial problems. Vodafone (UK), which has absorbed Mannesmann (Germany), number two on the German mobile telephone market, could be an investor interested in CM. CM's chief does not agree with the speculations, he does not see any reason for the sale of CM by TIW. CM, which operates the mobile network Oskar, won 302,000 clients from its setting up in 1Q 2000 till the end of 2000. The firm plans to have nearly 700,000 clients by the end of 2001. CM saw an operating loss of over CEK 4 bil in 2000. CM's profits should be similar as its costs in 2001. In 2002 the firm expects a profit.
