Activity consolidation to improve responsiveness
Article Abstract:
The concept of consolidation of activities as a vehicle for project planning is introduced. Consolidation eliminates inter-activity delays due to material and information flows, but reduces the amount of parallel graphical processing possible in the graph (consolidated activities are performed sequentially). Both tabu and heuristics are effective to solve the problem, but further research could improve processing efficiency and solution accuracy.
