Adjudicators could be given the power to decide jurisdiction
Article Abstract:
The issues related to the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) consultation paper on amendments to the payment and adjudication provisions of the Housing Grants Construction and the Regeneration Act 1996 that arrived in 2005 are discussed. These proposals are intended to simplify the payment provisions by defining the meaning of adequate payment mechanisms required to withhold notices to provide details of the remaining amounts.

Sues you, sir: a cautionary tale of the contract without paper
Article Abstract:
The McNicholas v Endemol case where the judge decided against the claimant who had relied on a handshake as having formed a contract, is a reminder that a contract does not need reams of paper and that caution must be exercised during any pre-contract negotiations. Although the judge felt that Endemol's conduct was somewhat disingenuous the claimant failed because there was no agreement.
