Aerospatiale Matra blocks Dassault plan
Article Abstract:
Dassault Aviation SA's plan to split its combat aircraft and business jet businesses has been blocked by Aerospatiale Matra SA. The development shows that Aerospatiale is strengthening its hold on Dassault. The company owns a 46% share of Dassault. A Dassault spokesman said that the company did not know why Aerospatiale was opposed to the plan. The spokesman however, added that perhaps there was a power struggle taking place between the managers of both companies.

Airbus CEO vows to cut costs without resorting to layoffs
