After Mexico and Canada, who?
Article Abstract:
The US should pursue its initiatives to set up free trade agreements with other nations. This could improve and liberalize trade with specific regions and countries even before the GATT multilateral system takes effect. However, negotiations with nations wanting to remove barriers to free trade should be all-encompasing and consistent with GATT principles instead of focused on tariffs. Free trade agreements may also be pursued singularly or as a link between two free trade agreements, effecting equal access to member markets for all signatories.

The south rises: old Saigon wins the peace
Article Abstract:
As Vietnam moves toward economic rebirth it seems to aspire to the sort of life and opportunity that South Vietnam offered before it lost the Vietnam War 20 years ago. Since then communism has impoverished the nation and fed the flames of nationalism and hatred. However, the country's current hopes as well as its present economic state indicate the success of the freer economy, heralding increasing trouble for the communist leadership.
