Singapore Airlines Ltd. has received the first A380 from Airbus S.A.S. The A380, the world's largest passenger jet, has rolled off the line nearly two years after it was slated to be launched, and cost $6.8 bil more than anticipated. Conflicts amid firm's German and French workforces, board members, and parent company management complicated the process.

Emirates, Airbus reach pact over delayed order for A380s

Aircraft manufacturer Airbus S.A.S. has agreed to a two-year delay on Emirates Airline's order of 43 A380 superjumbo planes, as Emirates will add four more planes to its initial order. The 47-plane order is Airbus's largest to date; each plane costs $319 mil.
