Airbus appears poised to land big order from British Airways
Article Abstract:
Airbus Industrie appears poised to land up to $2.8-billion order from British Airways for up to 190 Airbus single-aisle aircraft for 59 jetliners. The order could reach a total amount of over $9 billion, based on the list prices of the jetliners, if British Airways takes all the options for 130 more aircraft. Although it flies 10 Airbus planes inherited from another carrier it bought, British Airways marks the first time it is buying an Airbus jetliner. The 59 firm orders are split between Airbus' 124-seat A319 and its 150-seat A320.
