Chief says Aerospatiale can enhance a merger
Article Abstract:
Aerospatiale SA's chairman, Yves Michot, said that a union among his firm, British Aerospace PLC of the UK and Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG (Dasa) of Germany will better serve Europe's interest. The statement by the Frnce-based company is seen as an indication that it wants to be a part of European defense industry's impending reorganization. However, the French government is yet to give anything substantial regarding its plan to privatize state-owned Aerospatiale, the major issue of contention for both Dasa and British Aerospace.
