Sir Joshua Hassan

Sir Joshua Hassan served as chief minister for the British government on Gibraltar. He led a referendum in 1969 to allow residents to decide if they wanted to remain under British rule or convert to Spanish rule after Spain closed the border. The measure passed almost unanimously.
