Visitors coming to Nepal since year 2002 have had to contend with a lot of political tensions like the Maoist insurgents among other issues but there is a cheaper and better alternative to Katmandu in the form of Nagarkot, a beautiful hill town just 32 kilometers from the capital. In a town, which is above pollution one experiences in the smog-filled capital is luring visitors because of its proximity to Katmandu.

Nepal witnessed one of the bloodiest battles in its eight-year old conflict between Maoist rebels and the government troops which started on 20th March. The king Gyanendra is seeking absolute power and is concerned about the legitimacy of an election in which violence is inevitable and things could set right.
