Allianz pojistovna (Prague, Czech Republic), insurance company, expects a profit of dozens of millions of Czech crowns for 2000, less than in 1999. The insurance firm saw a net profit of CEK 115.4 mil in 1999 compared to CEK 202.3 mil in 1998. Reasons for the profit drop are the insurance firm's investments. Allianz invested CEK 319 mil in the field of motor liability insurance. Its prescribed premiums totalled CEK 6.25 bil in 2000. CEK 1.04 bil of the sum was represented by life insurance premiums and CEK 5.21 bil by non-life insurance premiums. The insurance firm prescribed motor liability insurance worth CEK 1.9 bil, which corresponds to a 14% share on the market in this field. Allianz paid compensations of CEK 1.98 bil in 2000.

CPP with Filip to TOP TEN

Ceska podnikatelska pojistovna (CPP) (Prague, Czech Republic), insurance company, is launching so-called Life Insurance with Filip in 2001. The firm is extending its life insurance supply within tax reliefs for life insurance, which came into effect in the Czech Republic as of 01 Jan 2001. CPP's proceeds rose by 270% to CEK 834 mil in 2000 compared to 1999. CPP's economy resulted in a profit of CEK 14.92 mil in 2000, 160% more compared to 1999. CPP had over 430,000 insurance contracts as of 31 Dec 2000. The growth of CPP's results was influenced mainly by motor liability insurance in 2000. More than 220,000 clients utilized the insurance in 2000.

IPB Pojistovna (Pardubice, Czech Republic), insurance company, wants to have the leading role on the developing life insurance market. The boom of the market is expected in the Czech Republic within the implementation of tax reliefs. IPB Pojistovna wants to offer products, which will connect insurance, savings and the possibility of tax reliefs. The total volume of the firm's prescribed premiums was CEK 6.1 bil as of 31 Dec 2000. IPB Pojistovna, which was set up in 1992, had 1,080 employees at the end of 2000. Its stock is CEK 500 mil.
