Kalil Bottling Co. Chief George Kalil tries to keep the company competitive in the $54-billion soda market 75%-controlled by Coca-Cola Co. and PepsiCo Inc. His 720-employee company, which distributes 7 UP, Crush orange soda, RC Cola and other drinks, is one of the biggest, independent, third-tier bottlers in the US, with annual sales of $97 million. Kalil Bottling profits by canning and bottling store-brand soft drinks, and distributing so-called New Age beverages such as Snapple and Arizona tea.
