The Solidarity Electoral Action, also known as AWS, is a coalition of 37 different parties and ideological movements in Poland. The AWS tends to be right-wing and Catholic and has a good chance of winning power in the Sep 1997 parliamentary elections. It will probably continue economic reforms.

Poland's Solidarity Electoral Action party won the national election with about a third of the vote, though it is unsure what direction they will go once in power. It is likely to try to form a coalition government with the centrist Freedom Union party.
