Solvay-Alkor Folie commissions a line in Most

Solvay-Alkor Folie (SAF) (Most, Czech Republic), polypropylene film manufacturer, commissioned a new CEK 108 mil line in 1Q 2001. The new line enabled the company to set up 15 new jobs. SAF has received a state subsidy from an industrial development programme for north-western Bohemia. The state aid represents CEK 450,000 per one newly set-up job. SAF is a subsidiary of Solvay (Belgium), which manufactures polypropylene films for the automotive industry, office supplies and other products.

Shimano will build a plant in Karvina
Article Abstract:
Shimano (Japan), bicycle component manufacturer, will build a component production plant in the industrial zone in Karvina, the Czech Republic. Shimano will invest CEK 2.2 bil and will set up a total of 800 new jobs within the project by 2005. The plant's first production hall will be completed in Nov 2001 but its pilot production will be started on the rented premises of Kavoz (Karvina, Czech Republic) in Apr 2001.
