Better times ahead
Article Abstract:
Foreign companies made 153 purchases in Spain in 1994, up from 128 in 1993. France was the largest acquiror, with 29 deals, followed by the UK with 22. The expansion of the Spanish economy has led to a rise in the number and value of acquisitions by foreign concerns. The three recent devaluations of the Spanish peseta have also made Spanish companies more attractive to foreign purchasers.
