Article Abstract:
Joint ventures remain a significant form of corporate alliance. There has been a trend towards creating joint ventures with a larger number of partners, especially in the high-tech sector. However, this approach can bring difficulties, including cultural differences. There can be leadership and management problems with joint venture companies, and it may be necessary to consider offering potential managers of a joint venture company a package similar to the stakeholder approach used for members of management buyout teams.
