An interactive reservoir management system for Lake Kariba

Article Abstract:

A user-interactive decision support system (DSS) was proposed for the management of the Lake Kariba reservoir in Africa. The system establishes management information by taking into consideration significant reservoir characteristics, such as the amount of hydropower created and annual reservoir storage. It provides decision support system by integrating water release rules with expert input provided by reservoir manager.
