An unhealthy silence
Article Abstract:
Neither the Conservative or the Labor Party have addressed the financial problems of the National Health Service. Small cuts in management costs have done nothing to fix the problem, and neither party wants to increase the service's budget. Cuts have cause critical patients to be denied treatment.

Both Labor and Conservative Parties in the UK are supporting 'workfare' programs, but there are differences in the two programs. Labor plans tend to emphasize the carrot, Conservative plans the stick, but both parties have come to believe that public spending may eventually be reduced.
