Are there any phone deals?
Article Abstract:
Swiss consumers are not yet as sophisticated when it comes to choosing their telecommunications service provider as they are when buying a car or a house. Telecommunications has already been deregulated in Switzerland although Swisscom still has a monopoly on the local loop. Swiss consumers would find it difficult comparing prices since telecommunications providers rarely quote rates for the same services. Inconvenience is another issue that consumers have to contend with once they change telephone companies. Swisscom is still the dominant carrier in Switzerland and does not readily give consumers easy access to their carrier of choice.

Calling cards: cheaper by the minute
Article Abstract:
People who wish to access low-cost telecommunications services should recall that the best known names do not necessarily give the best rates. Companies such as AT and T and MCI may provide convenient services but they also charge more than their competitors for some long-distance services. Customers looking for low rates can check out pre-paid card services offered by Global One, Prime Line, Star Telecom, Telegroup and Swisscom. They may also obtain post-paid cards, call-back services and virtual office capabilities from these European telecommunications providers.
