Argos will run 'fan-friendly' plays
Article Abstract:
Cheap beer or a phone call from head coach Michael Clemons are some of the gimmicks being resorted to by the Toronto Argonauts to lure football fans to watch their games at Toronto's SkyDome. The Argos has seen fan support for the football team decline, despite the CFL's rising popularity across Canada. In 2000, it sold 4,600 season tickets while attendance reached 18,000 fans per game. For 2001, the Argonauts are hoping that sales of season tickets would reach 10,000 while average attendance per game would increase to 25,000 fans.
