Arts Council reopens NAC debate with call for new study
Article Abstract:
Lord Gowrie, Arts Council chairman, is proposing to undertake a further study into the idea of a national architecture centre. It is supporting further work on a 'virtual' centre endowed through a new charity, rather than a building, but also wants the development of a building. It believes that a centre should not augment or duplicate any services already provided by others, and it is pointing to the institute of International Visual Arts as a useful model to explore.
