As Mexico's oil giant struggles, its laws block foreign help
Article Abstract:
Petroleos Mexicanos of Mexico is facing a lack of new oil field development and would like to open up to international trade and investment. Petroleos Mexicanos was born in a nationalist fervor and has inalienable rights written into the Mexican Constitution that prevents the company from tying up with other international oil companies. The petroleum giant is the third largest producer of crude oil with $69 billion in revenue, yet is considered one of the least efficient companies in the industry.
