As U.S. aviation authority checks safety of Manila airport, locals grumble
Article Abstract:
Philippine officials are hoping that the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) will be satisfied with Manila's international airport after it finishes assessing the hub for security risks. If not, the FAA could require airports in the US to post public notices warning of security risks in the airport. Worst, it could require the termination of air traffic between the US and Manila. This could be a big blow to the city, given its aggressive initiative to woo foreign investors.
