Assessing the comparative spatial disadvantage (CSD) of regions in the European Union using non-radial data envelopment analysis methods
Article Abstract:
The use of non-radial data envelopment analysis methods for evaluating the regional spatial inequality and dispersion in seven countries of the EU was demonstrated. To this end, the concept of comparative spatial disadvantage (CSD) for assessing regional economic and social achievements was employed to identify disadvantaged regions and determine the level of support they need. Likewise, the implications of eliminating the CSD and achieving socioeconomic cohesion were considered from a production function point of view.

Service quality and operating efficiency synergies for management control in the provision of financial services: evidence from Greek bank branches
Article Abstract:
The productive efficiency of bank branches is assessed. Operating efficiency covers issues related to customer attraction, cash intermediation, cost management and quality of services. Branch efficiency is assessed using data envelopment analysis reinforced by the value judgments of individual branch managers. Effort effectiveness is estimated by referring to three quality dimensions on the operating efficiency of bank branches.
