Article Abstract:
Triola (Prague, Czech Republic), clothing manufacturer, expects a profit in 2000 compared to a balance loss of 5-8 mil Kc in 1999. The firm's operating profit should be zero. The company's outputs should be 125 mil Kc in 1999. Triola has had a majority stake held by Wincroft Investment Management (WIM) since 1997. WIM now holds a 68.5% stake in the firm. Triola is trying to decrease its production for foreign firms, which represents 80-85% of its total production, to the benefit of its domestic supply. The firm will export about 60% of its production in 1999 compared to 70% in 1997. Only about 5-10% of the firm's sales are represented by exports under the trade mark Triola. A big part of the firm's exports is represented by wage jobs for foreign partners. The company has a 8-10% share on the domestic market. Currently, Triola is setting up a network of its own and contracting shops on the Czech market.
