Dallas/Fort Worth in holding pattern
Article Abstract:
Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) saw a decline in its aviation revenue while passenger traffic remained flat in FY 1999. DFW generates $11 billion of economic activity for the state and supports 210,000 jobs which will increase to 300,000 with the completion of expansion plans. However, the landing fee rate at DFW has decreased from $1.79 to $1.28 over the last seven years through 1999. The airline cost per emplaned passenger is also down from $3.81 to $2.08.

Debts burden Denver International
Article Abstract:
Denver International Airport sustained a net loss of $55 million in FY 1999 due to its debt burden. The airport's operating revenues increased from $344 million in FY 1995 to $443 million in FY 1999 while its operating income rose to $127 million. However, defaulting airlines left $13.3 million in debts in 1999. The airport has a total capital expenditures of $1,091 million for the FY 2000-6 period, with $457 million earmarked for capital work.
