Austria: Haliburton lodges claim against Harbison

The world's biggest oil supplier Halliburton, is blaming RHI subsidiary firm Harbison Walker for fraud and money laundering of a combined insurance pool, which Halliburton alleges was used to settle Harbison's asbestos obligations (the family of a steel worker in Ohio who died of cancer won a court battle and are entitled to receive US 3,5mn compensation, Harbison has faced 100,000 similar claims since (1999). Halliburton had made an agreement with Harbison, that outstanding debits be settled by Halliburton before the close of a transaction, and by Harbison after a transaction had taken place. In question is the insurance pool formed as a settlement to this agreement. The US based company Harbison Walker, which has debts of billions of euro, could face insolvency.
