Austria: New star system for hotels
Article Abstract:
The Austrian hotel classification star system is to be overhauled to make the stars more representative of the quality of the beds and the breakfast, rather than the size of the entrance hall or the number of places in the restaurant. The new classification will be customer-service focused. The new system is to be used exclusively from the beginning of 2002. From 2003 hotels will have to pay a marketing supplement of no more than EUR 50 for the classification.
