Barclays, 3i Group back GVC Management buyout
Article Abstract:
Barclays PLC and 3i Group PLC have reached an agreement to support a leveraged buyout of Grands Vins de Gironde (GVC). GVC is Remy Cointreau SA's wine merchant. The buyout, scheduled to be completed by the end of March 1999, GVC's Chief Executive Pierre-Michel Alsac and four GVC managers will own a combined 25% of the company's capital. Forty percent will be owned by Barclays Private Equity and 35% will be owned by the 3i Group.
