BAA betters expectations
Article Abstract:
BAA PLC of the UK has reported profits before tax for the nine months ended Dec 31, 1999, that is only 5.5% lower than 1998 figures for the same period. Factors such as increased floor space and the construction of arrivals duty-paid facilities, in addition to the solid performances turned out by BAA McArthurGlen and BAA Lynton, contributed to the robust performance of BAA despite the abolition of European Union duty free.
