Mr AR Barwe, the former chief of SBI Capital Markets Ltd, has been appointed as the chief financial officer of Infrastructure Development Finance Company. He will be a part of the senior management in the company and has taken up the job on a two year contract. He will look after the company's entire finance operations, which involves treasury operations, finance and accounts, taxation and resources, management information systems and internal budgets. NEW PAEDIATRIC HEART SURGERY UNIT IN CITY
Article Abstract:
A new specialised unit for paediatric cardiac surgery has been set up at the Manipal Heart Foundation, Bangalore with an initial investment of Rs7.5 crore. The first stage includes two operation theatres and 25 critical care beds for children. The funds for the project have been jointly provided by Manipal Relief Society and Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India as an interest free grant. (gsh)

ICICI, HUDCO GIVE LONG-TERM FUNDING FILLIP WITH 12-YR LOAN

The Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation have approved in principle a Rs300 crore, 12 year term loan for the sewerage and water supply project of the Pune Municipal Corporation. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs735 crore. The lending rate is at 15.5-16.5 percent. The loan will have a moratorium of three years. (khr)
