BP Amoco's net rose 14% in quarter

BP Amoco PLC posted an improvement of 14% in its net income for the second-quarter of 1999. The results were higher than what analysts had predicted. BP Amoco posted $1.23 billion (1.15 billion euros) in net income on a replacement cost basis. During the same period in 1998, the company reported $1.08 billion in net income. Revenue from sales increased from $20.97 billion to $22.94 billion.
