Baby food
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the retail market for baby food in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK from 1993 to 1997. The decline in national birth rates and lifestyle issues significantly affected the retail market. The lower quality of prepared baby foods was also correlated with increases in home preparation of such foods. Value growth is anticipated to be highest in France over the six years to 2002. It is also forecast that the future success of the retail market for baby food will depend on the active development of value-added products by manufacturing companies.
