Banca Intesa forecasts rise in return on equity

Banca Intesa announced that it is expecting to post an equity return for the 1999 year that will be higher than 13.8% mark that it reported in 1998. Banca Intesa stated that it would post a rise in ROE nothwithstanding a planned increase in capital, the exercise of a warrant, and a convertible bond issue conversion. The management of Intesa was unsure about its ability to match its 1998 performance of 13.8% ROE.

Banca Intesa to offer floating-rate note

Banca Intesa is offering a five-year floating rate note worth 750 million euros to 1 billion euros. Banca Intesa, the third-largest banking group in Italy, has mandated Barclays Capital, Caboto, and Deutsche Bank AG to offer the note. The bank did not announce any price estimates for the note. However, others predicted that the note would be priced at approximately Euribor plus 10 basis points.

Banca di Roma reports group net rose 19% in 1st half
