Bangalore boot airport
Article Abstract:
The Indian government may award the contract for the construction of Bangalore international airport to Airport Authority of India if developers are not willing to agree to a build-own-operate-transfer contract. It is keen to promote such contracts, and believes that an airport is linked with national interests, and therefore cannot be handed over to the private sector. Some observers fear that this stance may have a negative impact on foreign investors' perceptions of India. Indeed, this project is now being seen as a test case.
