Barclay plans moves at investment bank
Article Abstract:
Barclays PLC, a UK bank, is trying to tie its Barclays Capital investment-bank unit more closely to its corporate clients. The unit, which employs 4.350 around the world, recently announced that it would lay off 250 people across most of its division. Barclays Capital anticipates record profits from its gilts, private equity and structured capital markets units. However, there are still concerns that Barclays Capital might see its performance to continue to be hounded by a slowdown in markets across the world.

Commerzbank to expand London fixed-income unit
Article Abstract:
Commerzbank AG is proposing to expand its fixed-income unit in London by doubling the team to approximately 200 people. The plan is a reassertion of the company's strategy to build up its investment banking businesses by way of organic expansion rather than by acquisition. German-based Commerzbank is planning to enhance its fixed-income presence in order to be ready for expected major growth in European corporate debt markets.
