Barclays settles trading probe by U.S. regulator

An investigation into insider trading launched by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has prompted Barclays PLC to settle with the agency while neither admitting nor denying any wrongdoing. Barclays will pay a total of $10.9 mil, which includes $971,825 in prejudgment interest, $3.97 mil in disgorgement, and $6 mil as a civil penalty.
