US proceeds with second phase of simulation program
Article Abstract:
Eleven firms have been awarded contracts by the US Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division in support of US Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) program managers. These involved areas in Training and Devices, Combined Arms Tactical Trainer, Warfighter Simulation, and Instrumentation, Threats and Targets. For each STRICOM business domain, the acquisition contains four lots, in which spending could amount to $4 billion over eight years.

Swedish-US collaboration on course-corrected ammunition
Article Abstract:
US-based Science and Applied Technology and Sweden-based Bofors Weapon Systems have agreed to collaborate after their two governments signed a memorandum of understanding in May 1999. The collaboration involved the enhanced development of Bofors' Trajectory Correctable Munition 155mm artillery round. The award granted to Bofors by Sweden's FMV defense procurement organization covered assembly and test-firing of various major components.
