Invasion concerns mount in Taiwan
Article Abstract:
Many analysts are expressing concerns that China will eventually use military force to recover Taiwan. They stress that China is growing impatient with Taiwan's de facto independence and its leaders have begun to redefine Taiwan's independence, a move which could more easily justify military action. One of the greatest concerns among political analysts is whether the US will respond effectively to any Chinese attempt to retake the island.

Earnings growth is key to Taiwan's 'China plays.'
Article Abstract:
Many fund managers believe that the Taiwanese government's confusing policy towards investments in China is no reason to drop companies which have strong ties to the mainland. They state that many of these so-called 'China plays' are already earning profits from their mainland operations and that they will continue to do so regardless of the Taiwanese government's pronouncements.
