Increased strategic road mobility
Article Abstract:
The Belgian Army's order for 26 Scania T144 GB 6x4 tractor trucks, 26 Lohr SR-PB 60 Flatbed trailers, and 27 Renault Kerax 8x4 towing trucks are expected to be delivered over the next two years. The orders will substitute for Belgian Army's 1970s-vintage MAN-DAF tank transporters. The Scania-Lohr tractor-trailer combinations will permit the military to carry 60 tonnes, allowing it to provide long-distance road transport for its Leopard 1A5 (BE) main battle tanks (MBTs), as well as to German Army Leopard 2A5 or French Army Leclerc MBTs.
