Bernabe takes over global operations

Franco Bernabe, the new chief executive officer of Telecom Italia SpA, will be taking more direct control of the company's operations worldwide. Director General Francesco De Leo's control over Telecom Italia's global expansion was taken away by the company's board of directors. The head of international operations, Maurizio Stecco, will directly report to Mr. Bernabe rather than to Mr. De Leo.
