Bertelsmann to offer music, film downloads

The new improved service using file-sharing software has technology to prevent piracy and will make certain that content providers receive renumeration. The online film and music service will be available in Germany soon before heading to international markets.

Bertelsmann says revenue climbed in fourth quarter

Bertelsmann AG of Germany posted a fourth quarter revenue increase of 9.8 percent to 5.6 billion Euros ($6.77 billion) from 5.1 billion Euros last year. Revenue rose 5.1 percent to 17.89 billion Euros in 2005. The publishing house is considering an initial public offering.
