AT&T, Dobson to acquire American Cellular
Article Abstract:
AT&T Corp., along with Dobson Communications Corp., will acquire American Cellular Corp. for about $1.1 billion (1.02 billion euros) in cash. The move is an attempt by AT&T to expand its cellular telephone coverage. The acquisition will give AT&T with greater wireless network coverage in the Northeastern, Southeastern, and Midwestern US. Both Dobson and AT&T will fund the transaction with approximately $370 million each.
