Blame Indonesia's Chinese?
Article Abstract:
Indonesia blatantly discriminates against the ethnic Chinese community by banning all Chinese celebrations or Chinese-language schools and Chinese writing is frowned upon. The Chinese have responded by working hard to make money as security against this discrimination and although only 3.5% of the population is Chinese, they own or control 70% of the non-land wealth. They have been taking money out of the country since Indonesia's economic crisis has worsened and the government must change its approach to the Chinese if it wants them to start putting their money back into the country.
